Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by our representative. You will be transferred to your hotel in the vibrant city of Arusha. After check-in, your guide will provide a comprehensive briefing about your upcoming safari adventure. Relax and settle in for the evening.
After breakfast, we depart for Tarangire National Park, renowned for its vast elephant herds and iconic, ancient baobab trees. The Tarangire River is a magnet for wildlife, and we will spend the day on a game drive exploring its diverse landscapes. Keep an eye out for lions, leopards, giraffes, and a remarkable variety of birdlife. In the late afternoon, we will proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
This morning, you have the option for a final game drive in Tarangire or a visit to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and flamingo-filled soda lake. Afterwards, we drive up into the lush Ngorongoro highlands, arriving in the town of Karatu. You'll check into your lodge, which offers stunning views of the surrounding coffee plantations.
An early start takes us to the rim of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will descend 600 meters to the crater floor for an incredible game drive. This self-contained ecosystem boasts one of the highest densities of wildlife in Africa, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo). After our crater exploration, we ascend and drive to the heart of the Great Migration: the Ndutu area of the Southern Serengeti.
Today is dedicated entirely to the Ndutu plains. This area is the primary calving ground for the wildebeest. You will be surrounded by vast herds, witnessing the miracle of birth and the dramatic interactions with predators like cheetahs, lions, and hyenas that are drawn to the abundance of vulnerable newborns. Your game drives will be flexible to maximize viewing opportunities.
Enjoy another full day exploring the endless plains of the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu Conservation Area. The migration is not static, and your guide will use their expertise to track the herds' movements. Depending on the wildlife activity, you may explore the nearby kopjes (rocky outcrops) where lions often rest, or the open plains where cheetahs hunt.
After breakfast, enjoy one last morning game drive in the Serengeti, soaking in the final sights and sounds of the migration. Following a camp lunch, we will begin our scenic drive back towards the Ngorongoro highlands, arriving back at your lodge in Karatu in the late afternoon for a relaxing evening.
After a leisurely breakfast, we will drive back to Arusha. Enjoy a farewell lunch at a local restaurant before we transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your flight home, filled with memories of an extraordinary Tanzanian adventure.
